The Union Special Mark IV series 3-thread overlock (often marketed as the 39500 “Mark IV”) is a rugged industrial overlock (serger) machine designed for high production use. It is built with heavy cast iron construction and precision gearing, delivering consistent stitch quality even under demanding conditions. The Mark IV series supports a three-thread overlock stitch—using one needle + two loopers—making it ideal for seam finishing, edge-overlocking, trimming, and light seaming tasks across knit and woven fabrics. Its design includes an integrated cutting/trimming mechanism, enabling the machine to trim the raw edge while simultaneously sewing the overlock seam.
